A decibel is an unit for relative loudness. The decibel scale is a logarithmic scale. In order to move up by the same amount from any starting point, you don't add the same amount, you multiply.

Paper towel: 83.3 dB
















Vent fan in nurse's bathroom: 60.9 dB



















Door closing: 73.8 dB




















Water fountain: 56.8 dB
